I am thrilled to announce that I have won two prizes in the 2018 CYA Conference writing competition—first place in Chapter Books – Younger Readers and third place in Chapter Books – Older Readers. Plus a full manuscript request from a major publishing house. Much celebrating happening!

Along with Monster Sharks, I have a middle grade fiction book coming out with Heinemann. Details early next year.

I am currently working on three big projects—two chapter books and a picture book. This beautiful girl is my inspiration for one of the chapter books.

2015

I am excited to announce that I have been awarded the 2014 IPEd Prize by the Institute of Professional Editors. This is an annual prize awarded for an essay written as part of a postgraduate degree in editing or a related field. More details here – iped-editors.org/News_and_events/Awards.aspx. I have been invited to speak about my essay in May at the 2015 Australian Conference for Editors, Indexers and Publishing Professionals in Canberra.
